Key Health’s Clinical Research Unit is headquartered in Sydney CBD, with active clinical trial operations across multiple locations, including Pagewood and Bondi Junction. We have the capability to deliver Phase I, II, and III clinical trials across all Key Health clinics, enabling flexible, scalable study delivery throughout Sydney.

Operating within a primary care (GP) setting, our network sees hundreds of patients daily, providing access to a diverse and engaged participant database for strong patient recruitment and efficient trial execution. Our purpose-built clinical trial facilities support high-quality data collection, strict participant safety, and compliant study delivery.

We operate in accordance with ICH-GCP (Good Clinical Practice), NHMRC National Statement, and TGA regulations in Australia.

Key Health Clinical Research Unit provides end-to-end clinical trial services in Sydney, Australia, supporting sponsors across multiple therapeutic areas within a primary care (GP) setting.

Our services include clinical trial management from study start-up and feasibility through to budgeting, scheduling, monitoring, and close-out. We also manage regulatory and ethics processes, including CTN submissions, HREC approvals, governance documentation, and protocol amendments in line with Australian requirements.

We enable fast and reliable patient recruitment in Sydney through our established GP clinic network, supported by robust data and quality management systems (CTMS and EDC) for accurate reporting, SAE management, and audit readiness. Our team also provides feasibility and site selection support, delivering realistic recruitment projections and experienced investigator engagement.

We conduct clinical trials across key therapeutic areas, including chronic disease, infectious diseases, women’s health, and neurology, with the capability to support both single-site and multi-site clinical trials across Australia.

    Dr Anthony Yap

    Co Founder Key Health

    Dr Anthony Yap is a General Practitioner with over 25 years of clinical experience and more than 20 years’ involvement in clinical research, including early Phase I trials. He is the co-founder of Key Health Medical Centres, a GP-led network across Sydney with integrated clinical trials capability.

    Dr Yap has extensive experience as a Principal Investigator across multi-site trials, with a strong focus on metabolic disease, endocrinology, vaccines, and primary care–driven recruitment. His background in high-volume general practice enables rapid patient identification and enrolment, supported by structured data mining and in-consult recruitment pathways.

    Dr Naheed Kanji

    Co Founder Key Health

    Dr Naheed Kanji is a highly experienced General Practitioner and co-founder of Key Health Medical Centres, with extensive experience in both clinical medicine and clinical trials delivery.

    Dr Kanji has acted as Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator across a range of Phase II trials, with particular strengths in women’s health, chronic disease, and preventive medicine.     Dr Stephanie Rufo has a strong research background, with a PhD in Biological Sciences, experience on site, and at Sponsor and CRO level. She manages the Key Health Clinical Research Unit and is responsible for study execution from start-up, through enrolment, follow-up and final close out. Stephanie has been in the clinical trial space for 10+ years with a keen interest in early phase trials. She is data oriented and science-focussed with a passion for delivering high quality research.

    Alice is a registered nurse with a Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing Leadership and Management, bringing over 10 years of clinical experience and 4 years of clinical research experience across multiple clinical trials. She has worked across diverse healthcare settings in both the UK and Australia, developing strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement and multidisciplinary collaboration. Alice is highly committed to patient safety, with a strong passion for service improvement and the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
